@140plus Interesting. But yeah, I don't think they're directly competing; Ping seems to be more about music/media discovery than anything else.

score. since treyarch is making it, this means that people who actually know how to make challenging games are finally making them!
now, for my explanation.
modern warfare 2.
over 10,000,000 people have experienced raging at one point or another.. commando, lightweight, marathon, hacks, glitches that take months to fix, corner camping, thermal scopes, heartbeat sensors, and the Barrett 50 cal?!? comeon. but that's OK. because we were hooked to its awesome attention to detail for guns and all that other cool stuff.
with treyarch, you'll still have that cool gun and detailed map feel, but the maps are expansive, the "perks" aren't designed to help lazy fat kids feel like they ran the bay to breakers every year. there may be things like "bandolier" but not "scavenger". Attachments for weapons will be much better designed and no more "baby monitors" THANK GOD!. apart from everything else, expect it to be like this: cod4, WaW, and bfbc2 had a threesome and it was somehow part vietnamese and part latino. yep. it's that crazy. I know I can't wait...

Ping does have a rival- the Zune Social. While Zune Social doesn't have the same following or popularity, it's much more intuitive and generally much better.
