As you may have heard, Apple released their next generation of iPod Touches at their annual music event today. Obviously, the iPod Touch has been lacking a camera of any sort since it first debuted in 2007. With the new hardware upgrade, the iPod Touch can do FaceTime — one of the rumors that came […]

As you may have read a few days ago, Apple will be having their annual “Music Event” tomorrow. And, if you’re like the rest of us, you’re probably curious about the speculation of what will be announced tomorrow; a new iPod Touch, iTunes.com, etc. Well, we’ve written about most of the rumors, which you can […]

Well, now we finally know what the future of the iMac is — a hybrid of Mac OS X and iOS. A patent from Apple yesterday outlined what looks to be the future of Mac hardware alike. As you can see in the picture above, the newly patented “iMac Touch” design (named by Patently Apple) […]

With the recently launched Facebook Places, we thought it would be fun to show you how to beat the system and appear wherever in the world you like. Let’s Do This 1. To do this, you will need Firefox (free) because it allows us to edit the config file easily. Now that it’s downloaded, type “about:config” into […]

It’s been a wild ride here at SimFlecks. When we first started, last August, we had only three authors. Ian, Parteek, and myself. We began writing about topics that interested us. I wrote about App Store applications, Parteek wrote about Android, and Ian wrote about pretty much whatever “interesting” things he found. Months went by and […]

A new software update is in the works right now at Apple. According to AppleInsider, we can expect multiple fixes, including the proximity sensor and also issues with Bluetooth connectivity, along with a new look for Game Center (still to be released). Proximity Sensor Users have reported that while on a phone call, their screen […]

With today’s announcement of Facebook Places, Facebook has officially joined the very busy market of location-based check-ins and location sharing. We can expect Facebook Places to be a very successful application because of one simple fact: accessibility. Facebook has 500 million users, and many of them use mobile devices to enhance their Facebook experience. Places […]

Paul Devine, an Apple iPod Operations Manager, has been accused of accepting more than $1 million in kickbacks from suppliers of iPhone and iPod accessories in Asia. Devine supposedly used his security clearance at Apple to provide confidential information about upcoming products to Apple’s suppliers. According to the indictment, suppliers then used the secrets to negotiate favorable contracts […]

It almost feels like there’s this sort of continuous belief that the iPhone will be dropping it’s exclusive carrier deal. We’ve been hearing rumors about an iPhone running on other networks pretty much since the first iPhone was released. But according to TechCrunch, we can expect Apple to open up the carrier list as soon […]

Today, MacRumors received some pictures of what could very well be the next generation iPod Touch from an iPhone parts supplier. As you can see, the casing reveals a spot for a camera. Of course this isn’t the first image we’ve seen of a rumored new iPod Touch, but it definitely supplements it’s predecessor images […]

Well yesterday I decided to do something I was sure I wouldn’t do. Jailbreaking, that is. Why did you do it? Well, I guess I just couldn’t stand seeing that boring lockscreen any more. When I wrote about features we’d love to see in iOS 4 , I couldn’t get over the rumored image — which can […]

Did you jailbreak or root your device? The Library of Congress understands. They’ve even created an anti-circumvention exception to the DMCA. Basically all they ask is that you don’t pirate the software, in return you can make your device do whatever you like. From the Library of Congress: Computer programs that enable wireless telephone handsets to execute […]
